The National Board of Medical Examiners® (NBME®), the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG®), and the Federation of State Medical Boards of the United States, Inc. (FSMB) (collectively, the "IAMRA Hosts") are committed to protecting your privacy and to maintaining the integrity and privacy of personal information that is collected through the IAMRA 2010 Conference website (the "Site"). The following Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains the information collection and dissemination practices in connection with the Site. Please review the Policy and feel free to contact us at if you have any questions. Any changes to this Policy will be posted on this webpage so that you are always aware of the information that is collected and how it is used.

1. Collection of and Consent to Use Personal Information from Site Users
While visiting the Site, you may provide personal information in the process of registering for the IAMRA 2010 Conference. Personal information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Name/Title
  • Credentials
  • Email address
  • Mailing address
  • Telephone/Fax number

In general, you are required to respond to most of the questions on the IAMRA registration form (e.g., name, title and email address). By providing your personal information online, you consent to allow the IAMRA Hosts to use that information in accordance with this Policy. This information is used to process your registration, for identification purposes, and to provide services related to the IAMRA 2010 Conference.

2. Security
The IAMRA Hosts are concerned with the security of your personal information. Administrative, technical and physical measures are in place to protect the security of your personal information. To protect your privacy, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology is used to prevent third parties from seeing your personal information during data transmission.

You may choose to pay the conference registration fee online using PayPal. Please note that if you use PayPal to process your payment, you should review PayPal's Privacy Policy, which is posted on its website and describes the ways PayPal collects, stores, uses and protects your personal information.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot and do not ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. In the event there is a breach of the security measures, the IAMRA Hosts will take reasonable and appropriate actions to minimize the damage resulting from the security breach. However, the IAMRA Hosts cannot guarantee that unauthorized individuals will not obtain access to your information through illegal measures, despite our security measures.

If you are unable to register and pay online, you may submit the paper registration form, which is available at the Site. Please note, however, that individuals who submit the paper registration form will be registered using a web-based interface; as a result, the personal information they provide will be transmitted over the Internet. If you submit the paper registration form, you can pay by mailing a check or money order to the NBME with your registration form.

3. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a web server can store on a user's hard disk. When you access any of the online services at the Site, NBME uses temporary session cookies placed on your web browser, which enable NBME to identify you. The temporary session cookies are deleted once the browser is closed.

4. Use of Personal Information Collected
The IAMRA Hosts use the personal information you provide to process your registration and to provide services related to the IAMRA 2010 Conference. The IAMRA Hosts will not use your personal information for marketing or promotional purposes unrelated to the conference.

5. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
The personal information you provide will be disclosed to and may be used by IAMRA. Some of the personal information you provide, including your name, title, and credentials, will be published in the IAMRA 2010 Conference program book and may appear in other conference materials. We may also disclose your personal information to certain third parties to provide the products and services you have requested in connection with the IAMRA 2010 Conference. To support these services, we may send a portion of your personal information, such as name, to them to ensure that you obtain the services you purchased. They have access to the minimal information needed to perform their functions, but otherwise will not use the information for other purposes. For example, if you have special dietary needs, we may provide certain registration information, such as your name, to the caterer.

Other than as noted in this Policy, or as the IAMRA Hosts shall notify you in the future, the IAMRA Hosts do not sell, rent, share, offer, or otherwise disclose any personal information, such as names, email addresses, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, or other personal information that you voluntarily provide on the Site, to any organization or individual without a legitimate interest (collectively "Third Parties"), except to the extent necessary to comply with applicable laws or valid legal process, or to protect the rights or property of the IAMRA Hosts.
